Things to Do in Dungarvan
Set where the Colligan River meets Dungarvan Bay, with the Comeragh Mountains rising behind the town, Dungarvan is a lively harbour town with plenty to fill your stay. Spend a family day out on miles of clean, sandy beach, browse the shops around Grattan Square for the perfect gift, or get out on the Waterford Greenway.
Whether you're after an active break or a slower pace, you'll find horse riding, fishing on local lakes and rivers, tennis, pitch and putt and three championship golf courses all within easy reach of Lawlors Hotel. Waterford's calendar is also packed with festivals throughout the year, from writers' festivals to celebrations of traditional Irish music and culture.
Discover An Rinn
On the western shore of Dungarvan Bay, An Rinn (Ring) is a Gaeltacht area where Irish is still the everyday language. Wild and unspoilt, it's home to An Cuinigear, a long, pencil-slim peninsula that draws a huge variety of seabirds.
The area is known for Coláiste na Rinne, the Irish language college that welcomes students for summer and full-term courses, and for local crafts including hand-cut crystal at Criostal na Rinne and Irish Wildlife Mobiles in Seanphobal.
Don't miss Helvick, a small but busy fishing port. Nearby Helvick Head (Ceann Heilbhic) offers sweeping views over the bay and the Waterford coastline, with the Comeraghs as a dramatic backdrop.

Dungarvan Farmers Market
Held in Grattan Square every Thursday from 9.30am to 2pm. Fresh seasonal vegetables and fruit, organic beef, farmhouse cheese, fresh fish, eggs, ready-made meals, gluten-free cakes and apple juice.
